Paul Lambert said Aston Villa’s fans deserved the players’ applause after his team beat West Ham United 2-0.
A Christian Benteke penalty and a cracking free-kick from Charles N’Zogbia gave Villa all three points against the Londoners who continue to struggle away from home.
He said: “The fans are important; they deserve every bit of praise after being kicked from pillar to post.”
