STORY: The French military on Sunday released video of what it said was Rafale fighter bombers leaving a base in eastern France and then landing in the Chadian capital of N'Djamena after having carried out a mission over Mali.

The video showed night time shots of munitions being fixed under the wings of four fighter-bombers at a base in St Dizier in eastern France overnight. The squadron then landed after completion of its mission over Mali in the Chadian capital of N'Djamena. The munitions were no longer visible under the wings.

Earlier on Sunday, Defense Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said the French Air Force was carrying out round-the-clock strikes against rebels who took over the north of Mali nine months ago and whose move south prompted Bamako to seek military support from France, the former colonial power.
