Syrian rebels fighters witness what they say is an airstrike on a military base in Idlib province.

The video, which cannot be verified by Reuters, appears to show Taftanaz airbase under heavy fire.

A second video from the same area is said to show a bomb falling from a military helicopter on Wednesday (January 9).

It breaks up before hitting the ground.

A voice behind the camera says it's a cluster bomb - being dropped to fight a rebel siege.

More amateur video from the same day appears to show rebels gathered inside a building at the airport.

They surround an armoured personnel carrier - and the body of a government soldier.

Taftanaz is a key military airbase in northern Syria and has seen fierce fighting as rebels attempt to gain ground.

Government forces have increasingly used airpower to bombard opposition fighters.
