Will Govt crackdown on Maoists?

Maoist terrorists have showed worse form of barbarism when they subjected Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Jawans to inhuman torture in the encounter in Jharkhand's Latehar district.

The CRPFs 134 and 112 battalions and Jharkhand Jaguar personnel were engaged in the anti-naxal operations when the encounter took place near Katila locality of Amuatikar village of the district on January 7. The toll in the encounter is 13. The Maoists booby-trapped the bodies with explosives which exploded subsequently causing the high casualty figure. A 1.5 kg bomb was planted by Maoists inside the stomach of a CRPF jawan killed in an encounter with the rebels in a brutal tactic perhaps used for the first time by Naxals in the country. The Naxals had surgically inserted an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in the body of the slain jawan of the CRPF who was killed three days back in an ambush near Katila locality of Amuatikar village of Jharkhand's Latehar district. Maoists had placed gelatin sticks, a detonator and a battery in a neatly packed plastic container inside the stomach of the dead CRPF jawan after taking out his vital abdominal organs.

Is this incident a proof of how Jharkhand government is going soft on the red corridor. Would maoists terrorists have had the guts to do this if the state had not gone soft on them?
