Lang Lang on Playing Jazz with Herbie Hancock
Lang Lang International Music Foundation - Preston Bradley Hall at the Chicago Cultural Center
The day after his concert at Ravinia in Chicago, superstar pianist Lang Lang will donate his time to deliver a free public event for children with the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events in partnership with the Chicago Office of Tourism and Culture.

Lang Lang will perform alongside three Young Scholars of the Lang Lang International Music Foundation in a special concert designed to inspire and educate the next generation of classical music lovers, performers and life-long listeners. Performances by Young Scholars Anna Larsen, Charlie Liu and Derek Wang will feature works by Chopin, Bach and an original composition by Larsen.

Lang Lang will be joined by Ravinia President & CEO Welz Kauffman, who will moderate a Q&A session. As part of the discussion, Lang Lang will tell the story of how he fell in love with classical music after watching Tom & Jerry’s The Cat Concerto, and a clip from the video will be shown. The event concludes with a solo piano demonstration by Lang Lang.
