Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood rallies for Mursi

Thousands of supporters of Egyptian President Mohamed Mursi rally outside Cairo University.

This is just a week since opposition protesters demanded Mursi reverse a decision to greatly expand his powers.

The president has also tried to push through a controversial new constitution.

Saturday's rally was called for by the Muslim Brotherhood, the Islamist group from which Mursi hails.

Demonstrators chanted pro-Mursi slogans and called for an Islamic state where sharia law is applied.

This protester accused the opposition of refusing to negotiate with Mursi.

He says the president has been reaching out to them since he assumed office.

Mursi issued his controversial decree on November 22, a day after he won world praise for brokering a truce in Gaza between Israel and Hamas.
