DRC army chief suspended over claims he sold arms to rebels

The Democratic Republic of Congo's army chief has been suspended after a UN report alleged he sold weapons to rebel groups.

General Gabriel Amisi and other officers are accused of providing arms to criminal gangs and rebels in the troubled East.

But the M23 group, which is leading an insurgency close to the border with Rwanda, was not among the direct benefactors.
