"A bus had an explosion inside due to a bomb. About 10 casualties were treated and evacuated by ? and police teams to the nearby hospital in Tel Aviv. Three of the casualties are severely to moderately injured, the rest of the seven are lightly injured."

The last time Israel's commercial capital was hit by a serious bomb blast was in April 2006, when a Palestinian suicide bomber killed 11 people at a sandwich stand near the city's old central bus station.

The blast comes as Israel's assault on the Gaza Strip - which has killed over 130 people, most of them civilians - enters its eighth day.
