The Newshour Debate: CAG versus Govt - (Part 2 of 2)

Trying to wriggle out of the controversy over Union Minister V Narayansamy's remarks on CAG, Congress indicated that Government will not go in for changes in the auditor's institutional mechanism based on the "activities of a person". Denying suggestions that incumbent Vinod Rai has become a pain in the neck for the ruling dispensation, party spokesman Sandeep Dikshit told reporters that the CAG is the "companion" of the government. In a debate moderated by TIMES NOW's Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami, panelists -- Dr. Abhishek Manu Singhvi, MP, Rajya Sabha, Congress; VN Kaul, Former Comptroller and Auditor General; Sudheendra Kulkarni, BJP leader; Harish Salve, Former Solicitor General and Naresh Gujral, MP Rajya Sabha, SAD, debate the issue.
