Subhash has been fighting for the rights of deserted and divorced women in Himachal for almost 2 decades. Hailing from Maharashtra, Subhash came to Himachal in 1984 and under the platform of 'Ekal Nari Shakti Sanghatana' started fighting for the rights of deserted and divorced women. Shubhas’s efforts have culminated to form SUTRA- social upliftment thorugh rural action. Today more than 5,500 single women, divorced, deserted, or those whose husbands have gone missing, are a part of SUTRA across seven districts of Himachal Pradesh. Working for, of and by the women; the impact of all that Subhash has done is there for everyone to see.
