Obama arrives in Chicago to await election results

U.S President Barack Obama arrives in his hometown Chicago with First Lady Michelle Obama to await elections results on Tuesday.

The First Couple spent two days of nearly round-the-clock travel to the battleground states of Ohio, Florida, Colorado, Iowa, New Hampshire and Wisconsin.

The President ended his campaign on Monday in Iowa, the place that launched his first White House bid and that could hold the key to his political future.

Meanwhile in Dixville Notch, New Hampshire, Obama and his challenger Mitt Romney each received five votes.

The first results of the presidential race, by tradition, were tallied in the area early Tuesday morning, and this is the first time there was a tie in Dixville.

National opinion polls show Obama and Romney in a virtual dead heat, although the President has a slight advantage in several vital swing states - most notably Ohio - that could give him the election.
