On Staten Island, the lines for gas are miles long and frustration is about the only thing in abundance.

"It's cold and I don't know what's going on with the gas station. I don't know."

SOUNDBITE: Staten Island resident Dominic Rossiello saying:

"I'm over 28 hours out here and now we're in front of the Hess here. Hopefully they've got gas when we get there because if not I'm going to be very upset."

Many slept in their cars. They say they have no other choice.

SOUNDBITE: Staten Island Resident, Bob Mclean saying:

"I'm going to be out of gas. I have to stay here until I get there. I have no more gas in the car. I'm hoping that someone behind me can push me if I run out."

"I'm over 28 hours out here and now we're in front of the Hess here. Hopefully they've got gas when we get there because if not I'm going to be very upset,"

State officials announced on Saturday that they plan to deliver 28 million gallons of gasoline over the weekend.

On the east coast of Staten Island, many areas were still without power as the major clean up operation began.

SOUNDBITE: Staten Island resident Iqbal Mughal saying:

"We are cooking on the candles. I mean we are making tea or coffee or something, we are doing this on candles right now because we don't have anything."

While other parts of the East Coast are talking about rebuilding, many here say they have yet to hear a word from their insurance companies.
