Cuban state media said at least 11 people have been killed by Hurricane Sandy.

The storm packing winds up to 110 miles per hour hit southeastern Cuba early on Thursday.

It leaves behind a trail of destruction, damaged buildings, debris and floods.

U.S. government forecasters warned that much of the U.S. East Coast could get swiped by Sandy.

Florida could be the first U.S. state to feel its wrath, with flooding, heavy rains and high winds expected.
