Moscow protest over Radio Liberty staff cuts

A small protest has taken place outside the US Embassy in Moscow over mass lay-offs at Radio Liberty.

The Russian service is being shrunk after American funding was cut to comply with a new law on foreign financing of local NGOs.

The radio station was founded in 1953 to provide western news coverage during the Soviet era.
