The scene outside a hotel in the Israeli resort city of Eilat after an American man opened fire and killed a hotel employee.
This man was injured in the melee.
SOUNDBITE: AVI (NO LAST NAME GIVEN), an eyewitness to the attack saying:
"All of a sudden we heard screaming we looked back and saw a man with cap on his head and a bag on his back hitting the security guard as the security guard was on the floor. I ran immediately to the place and jumped on the person and restrained his hands from the security guard and then we struggled and in the meantime he managed to take the security guard's weapon."
The American then killed one security guard before barricading himself in the kitchen. He continued to fire on Israeli security forces who eventually killed him.
Hotel employees say they aren't sure what motivated the attack.
