15th release for for the VK request songs project, "Code V". It also marks the 61st cover and celebrated 800 YouTube subs.
The original video on YouTube generated 104,901 views with 56% ratings (101:79) and 67 favorites. It was my #1 most watched video and #3 most downloaded cover.
Vocal cover as usual - all vocals and harmonies are done by me.
There are many things I've learned through the 7 consecutive releases, and even more so by following ABC's monthly schedule for the past 5 months, doing 5 songs from the same guy, but 5 different styles. Ballads are always extremely challenging to sing, because it's not just techniques, but feelings must be felt by the listener. Honestly I really liked this song's melody the moment I heard it, and at the same time, I felt it was impossible for me to sing it anywhere near as well... I did give my best to record and mix it this time, even though it's not as good as I wanted it to be. I hope you still enjoyed it.
Recording took about 2 days, and mixing took about 3-4 days. Because of various reasons, I was extremely extremely serious and cautious about the whole process so I kept redoing it. I used new recording equipment, mixing software, and of course a completely different way of mixing as well. This time required a 2 octave harmony again, which I am somewhat accustomed to by now. I think the general overall quality was improved (though there were a lot of parts unsatisfactory...).
