Supporters of Julius Malema sing outside a court where he is charged with money laundering.
They say this is a political plot against the South African outcast ANC Youth Leader -- behind it President Jacob Zuma.
After being charged Malema slammed "banana republic" justice.
(SOUNDBITE) (English) EXPELLED ANC YOUTH LEAGUE PRESIDENT, JACOB ZUMA:
"These charges which they have brought against me, they will not affect me in anyway. I am unshaken, I am not intimidated by nonsense. I am continuing with the struggle for economic freedom."
Prosecutors accused Malema of having "improperly received" over half a million U.S. dollars, and was given a bill for nearly two million dollars worth of unpaid taxes.
Malema is at odds with Zuma and opposes his reelection as ANC leader.
Malema wants to nationalise South Africa's mines and blames Zuma for the deaths of 34 miners, shot dead by police at a mine last month.
