Young Dutch designer Steffie Christiaens presented an ethereal, Doomsday-inspired collection for Spring/Summer 2013 at her catwalk show in a cavernous parking garage in Paris on Tuesday (September 25).

Christiaens, an environmentally-conscious designer, opened her presentation with a projection of a conceptual film she directed, demonstrating her concern over the melting of the North Sea's ice caps. The dream-like sequence showed models swimming underwater, wearing garments made from fabric that dissolves and reforms in the water.

Christiaens likened the changing nature of the clothes in the video to the instability and uncertain future of the planet in a press communique handed out to journalists attending the catwalk presentation.
