Israeli soldier and militants killed in border clash

Three gunmen crossed into Israel from Sinai and opened fire on soldiers, leaving one dead and wounding another. The militants themselves were then killed.

The Israeli army reports that the men, whose nationalities have not been confirmed, were heavily armed with rifles and explosive belts. The army spokesman called them "terrorists" and said a major attack had been prevented.
