Based on Thomas Harris's novel Red Dragon, Manhunter leaded to the 1991's The Silence of the Lambs, a film adaptation of Harris' next Lecter novel, starring Anthony Hopkins ( 31 Dec. 1937- ) and Jodie Foster.
