The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and his wife Catherine, visited a hospice in Malaysia's capital on Thursday (September 13).

Prince William and Kate earlier attended a lunch hosted by Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak after touching down at Kuala Lumpur International Airport at noon.

The royal couple then visited a hospice in Kuala Lumpur where the Duchess of Cambridge delivered her first speech abroad.

"William and I are hugely excited to be in Malaysia, it's our first ever visit, and are absolutely delighted to join you all here at 'Hospice Malaysia'. It's so exciting to learn about the country's very first paediatric palliative care programme, and to witness for myself something of the wonderful work of Hospice Malaysia's superb staff." she said.

This is the first visit by British royals to Malaysia in 14 years. The last visit was made by Queen Elizabeth II in September 1998.
