Syrians suffer for lack of medical supplies
  • 12 years ago
In northern Syria, as in much of the rest of the country, government forces are using helicopters and warplanes to attack rebel forces, sometimes hitting civilian areas in the process. Doctors and other medical professionals are trying their best to treat the wounded, but they lack adequate supplies, and often it is too dangerous to transport patients to better-equipped hospitals. On a recent day near Jabal al-Zawiya, one man died for just that reason, after a piece of shrapnel from an airstrike punctured his lung. Sue Turton reports.
