ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION

STORY: The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended a state dinner with the President of Singapore Tuesday after their first day of a tour through Asia Pacific, in honor of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

Prince William and Catherine were greeted by President Tony Tan at Istana, the Presidential palace.

Prince William gave a speech at a formal dinner at Istana. Guests raised their wine glasses as the Prince proposed a toast to the President and people of Singapore. The Duchess raised a glass of what appeared to be water, rather than wine like her dining companions.

The royal couple was served a seven course meal, with dishes including roasted duck with salad; pan fried Wagyu beef cubes with radish and carrot; braised bean curd with mushrooms and spinach; as well as chilled jelly with mango and sago.

Singapore is the royal couple's first stop in their Asia Pacific tour, before they travel to other Commonwealth states including Malaysia, the Solomon Islands and Tuvalu.

The tour is part of the celebrations marking the 60-year reign of Queen Elizabeth II.
