A car bomb kills at least 14 people after it explodes at a market in northwest Pakistan.

A previously unknown militant group, Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan Ghazi Group, claimed responsibility for the attack. They say they are targeting the country's Shi'ite minority.

Dozens were wounded in the blast.

(SOUNDBITE) (Pashto) HAJI ALI HAIDER, LOCAL SHOPKEEPER, SAYING:

"I was standing inside my shop with my back to the market. Suddenly there was a blast. It became dark as night. Nothing was visible. I have no idea what happened. The bright daylight turned pitch black as night. I don't know what happened after that until I found myself in hospital."

Suicide bombings have eased in Pakistan over the past year but it is not clear if that is due to pressure from the army or a shift in Taliban tactics.
