CMA nominations, George Michael returns to Vienna

Country singer Eric Church has gone from being among the best new artists to leading the pack of this year's Country Music Association nominees, grabbing five nods. Country powerhouse couple Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert are not far behind with four nominations each. Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley, Taylor Swift and Little Big Town all received three nods each. The 46th Annual CMA Awards will air live from Nashville on November 1.

George Michael made a triumphant return to the stage in Vienna on Tuesday night (September 4) after fighting for his life ten months earlier. Thousands of fans packed the venue as Michael took to the stage in a purple suit and his trademark sunglasses for the resumption of his 'Symphonica' tour. The former Wham! frontman fell ill in the Austrian capital in November and was diagnosed with severe pneumonia. He spent a month in Vienna's General Hospital under intensive care. Tuesday's show is the first of a number of rescheduled dates around Europe, including Paris and cities in the UK

Robbie Williams, Michael Fassbender, and Damian Lewis were among the stars picking up Men of the Year Awards at the annual GQ magazine bash in London on Tuesday (September 4). Williams was honored with the prize of Icon of the Year, at London's Royal Albert Hall. 'Shame' and 'Inglorious Bastards' actor, Michael Fassbender, won in the 'Actor of the Year' category. The TV personality of the year prize went to 'Homeland' star Damian Lewis.
