Indian and Pakistani leaders pledge better ties

Pakistan's President Asif Ali Zardari, accompanied by his son and political heir apparent, Bilawal, has concluded a one-day visit to India during which he met the Indian prime minister, Manmohan Singh.
He is the first Pakistani leader to visit the country since 2005.
The two countries have gone to war three times since gaining independence from Britain in 1947, with Kashmir - an area divided between the states for over 60 years - still a very sensitive issue.
While Sunday's talks were private, Singh said the aim was to normalise relations between the neighbours.
