Fortifying the levees in New Orleans ahead of Isaac

Water pours through an old levee at Lake Pontchartrain in New Orleans.

As the city braces for Tropical Storm Isaac, the Army Corps of Engineers is doing all they can to insure there will be no repeat of the devastating flooding that came when Hurricane Katrina struck the city seven years ago.

The U.S. National Hurricane Service now expects Isaac to develop into a category two hurricane..

The storm surge is expected to hit up to 12 feet in some areas.

Isaac could potentially take direct aim at New Orleans, which is still struggling to fully recover from Katrina.
