Increased US drone strikes questioned

US drones are piloted by operators thousands of miles away its targets leading some to question the ethics behind using a weapon where the person pulling the trigger, spots their target on a video screen -- and is not on the battlefield.

The use of the unmanned aircrafts has dramatically increased under the Obama administration - a practice criticised by many nations including Pakistan and Afghanistan - particularly so for the deaths of many civilians.

And while the CIA and the White House contend that intelligence operations are monitored, its details are usually kept secret questioning the legality, transparency and accountability of US officials.
