See-Through Security: Molecular scanners to search without consent

The US Department of Homeland Security is developing new laser-based security scanners that can identify any chemical substance in your body - and operate at a range of up to 50 meters. Officials say they'll be used to detect explosives at airports and border crossings. But other experts warn they could identify alcohol, drugs, and even what you had to eat - prompting concern for civil liberties.
