Arkansas police video taken the night a handcuffed man was fatally shot in a patrol car does not show whether he shot himself as officers say he did.

Jonesboro Arkansas police released video segments this week in the case of 21 year old Chavis Carter who died July 28 in the back of a patrol car.

Dashboard camera does not show the shooting and appears to end before officers found Carter slumped over and bleeding.

His family wants to know how he shot himself in the head if his hands were handcuffed behind his back. They have hired attorneys to help investigate his death.

Carter was taken into custody after a police officer stopped a truck in which he was a passenger following a report of a suspicious vehicle driving on a local road.

Officers held Carter, who had an arrest warrant out of Mississippi related to a charge of selling marijuana, according to media reports.

The death remains under investigation by local police, and the FBI is monitoring it as well.
