I Have A Rendezvous With Death – A poem by Alan Seeger. The poem "I Have a Rendezvous with Death," was actually written during world war one. Without a doubt, this poem gave death many divers thoughts. Alan Seeger wanted people to know that dying for your country was the noblest attempt in which death takes place. All this to say that being a patriot is far more than just a privilege. About the poet - Alan Seeger (1888 – 1916) was an American poet. He was born in New York. He fought and died in World War I serving in the French Foreign Legion. He was a contemporary of the poet T.S. Eliot.
