Tens of thousands of worshippers are flocking to the West Bank town of Bethlehem to celebrate Christmas.

Most are expected to gather near the Church of the Nativity, where Jesus is believed to have been born.

Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian president, is due to attend the midnight mass at the church.
