Bernie Madoff stole from the rich, not to give to the poor, but to keep his wife in diamonds and furs and himself in velveteen slippers.

The biggest ever fraudster on Wall Street had his initials stitched in gold - and they're now going under the hammer in New York.

His billions of illicit dollars also went on a gold lion ring with rubies for eyes and a diamond for a mouth.
