Miners rescue: The day after

Chile's 33 rescued miners have met with the country's president in the hospital ward where they are being checked after being pulled from the San Jose mine.

Doctors said most of the men were doing well and several were expected to be released later on Thursday, reuniting them with their families and forcing them to deal with an onslaught of global interest in their ordeal.

Al Jazeera's Latin America editor Lucia Newman reports from the abandoned site of the mine.
