Bieber wows Sydney fans

STORY: Fans of the Canadian pop star Justin Bieber took over the quayside in central Sydney on Wednesday morning (July 18) to see their heart-throb perform live on an Australian breakfast TV program.
Seven Network's Sunrise programme said 60,000 fans had applied for the 2,500 tickets to the event and thousands more mobbed the venue, listening to the star from outside the security fence.
Many spent the night outside hoping for a glimpse of their idol.
Bieber was scheduled to sing three songs the network said but surprised the crowds by performing more while 'off-air' for the commercial breaks.
"It was amazing. It was the best ever. We love Justin Bieber," said two fans after the show.
"It was great. It was awesome. He is so talented," added another.
In 2010, a similar quayside concert for Seven Network was cancelled amid security fears when thousands of Bieber fans without tickets mobbed the venue.
Since the star shot to fame in 2009 he has sold 15 million albums, has 25 million followers on Twitter and 45 million friends on Facebook.
The 18-year-old has been in Australia since Sunday (July 15) promoting his second album 'Believe'.
