An arrested rogue officer linked to a shootout in Mexico City's international airport that killed three federal police officers last month says that low salaries force officers to turn to crime.
Bogard Felipe Lugo de Leon is one of three officers suspected of turning on colleagues.
In video released by police he said he wasn't paid enough to resist crime.

"There is a fine line between being a policeman and a criminal and it all has to do with the money and what one is paid and this (turning on police force) happens. You ruin your life."
Two other federal police officers believed to have fired the shots at the airport remain at large. Lugo de Leon had reportedly fled the crime scene after the dramatic shootout and was found hiding out in a Mexico City suburb.
