A pipeline the United Arab Emirates has built to pump oil from its east coast terminals in order to bypass the Strait of Hormuz is about to open.

The Habshan-Fujairah pipeline will carry oil from fields in Abu Dhabi avoiding the Strait of Hormuz which Iran has threated to close in the past.

It was originally supposed to start operating in June and should be fully operational by August.
