Beyonce, Chris Brown win at BETs; Alec Baldwin weds

The BET Awards were help over the weekend and Beyonce was named best female R&B artist. The award for best male went to Chris Brown. Despite the awards, the brightest spotlight shined on late singer Whitney Houston - who was honored in a 20 minute tribute by stars like Mariah Carey and Brandy. Houston's mother, Cissy, also performed.
Alec Baldwin has married his fiancee, Hilaria Thomas, over the weekend. The actor posted a picture showing off his new wedding ring on Twitter. Baldwin and Thomas - a yoga instructor - announced their engagement in April. The couple have been dating for over a year.
Rupert Murdoch - the chairman of News Corp - took a swipe at Tom Cruise in a series of tweets that labeled the Hollywood star the number 2 or number 3 person in the hierarchy of Scientologists, a group he also called "creepy." Murdoch acknowledged his tweets would be controversial, and has reportedly received hundreds of negative responses to his statements.
As for Cruise, he has been spotted in Iceland, where he is working on a movie. There have been no statements from his camp or Katie Holmes's since the actress filed for divorce last week after five years of marriage.
