"We are here to celebrate the wedding of Jason and Scott who are going to get married in Midtown comics today and part to also celebrate the release of 'Astonishing X-Men' number 51 from Marvel comics."

After searching the U.S. for a comic-crazed couple, the store selected Scott Everheart and Jason Welker, from Columbus, Ohio.

"One of our first dates was him taking me to a comic book store, so that's why this also seemed kind of perfect, cause that was right at the start of our relationship. So this is kind of a nice full circle - and now I'm a total comic dork."

The wedding of comic book characters Northstar and Kyle is the first same-sex ceremony in the superhero world.

Northstar and Kyle have been a couple since 2009, but Marvel is not promising the pair will live happily ever after.

But Welker and Everheart are prepared to take their love to the end of time.

SOUNDBITE: Scott Everheart, groom, saying (English):

"I'm excited, I mean it's definitely a new journey, together."

SOUNDBITE: Jason Welker, groom, saying (English):

"It feels right. Way better than just dating."

The "Astonishing X-Men" number 51 is on sale now.
