How to add categories in OpenCart.

1. On the navigation bar hover over catalogue and click categories.
2. Click insert.
3. Enter the CATEGORY NAME.
4. If you would like a description to be seen when customers click this category, enter a DESCRIPTION. (You may or may not wish to enter a meta description, and, one or two keywords) This is only necessary if you wish this category to rank in the search engines.
5. Under the data tab, select a PARENT CATEGORY (if applicable). If you would like a photo displayed with this category, select an image. You may also choose to display it on the navigation bar, enter how many columns you would like, subcategories or products, to be displayed in the drop down menu.
6. Enter a SORT ORDER. (This will determine the categories placing on the navigation bar or if a subcategory, it's placing on the drop down menu.)
7. ENABLE status.
