Tom Theuns made his debut on the Antwerp rock scene, where he went on to graduate cum laude from Jazz Studio. He has visited Brittany many times to study open tuning guitar techniques as well as travelling to northern India to study classical music with sitar player Batuk Nath Mishra.

Not only is Theuns the driving force behind the internationally acclaimed bands Ambrozijn and Aurélia, he has also worked with Think Of One, Laïs, Vera Coomans, Nada, Olla Vogala, Soetkin Collier,... Recently he has been giving solo concerts following the release of his solo album 'Songs from the river'. It's no coincidence that, together with violinist Aurélie Dorzée, he is also an owner of the concert barge, the 'Aurelia Feria'.

'Freight Train' is a classic American folk song written in the early 1900s and popularised during the American folk revival of the 1950s and 1960s. Elizabeth Cotten wrote the song as a teenager, inspired by the sound of the trains rolling past on the tracks near her home.
