Sky watchers all over the Earth witnessed a rare astronomical event on Wednesday... the transit of Venus as it passed between the sun and Earth.
In South Korea, students watched the planet, which appeared as a small black round spot, as it moved across the face of the sun.
In the Philippines, students held pieces of film across their eyes as a filter to help block the sun's bright rays.
The phenomenon happens twice in an eight year period... and then not again until more than 100 years. Wednesday's transit was the second time in eight years. The next pair of transits won't happen again until 21-17.
In northern India, the sun rose with a black dot across it.
