Using shovels and their bare hands the residents of a poor rural part of Uganda have been scrambling to reach buried victims of a mudslide that hit the eastern Bududa district on Monday.

The landslide, caused by days of unseasonal rains, killed at least 80 people and hundreds of others are missing or homeless.
