Sudan-US relations improve - 13 Oct 09

Relations between the US and Sudan appear to be warming with the White House expected to review its policy towards the African country. Plans to build a US embassy in the capital, Khartoum, are already under way.

However, with the US having accused Khartoum of committing genocide in Darfur, keeping it under sanctions and on its list of "state sponsors of terrorism", mending ties might prove difficult.

Mohamed Vall reports from Khartoum on the mixed response to the prospect of closer ties.
