Brand new cruise liner meets bridge - it's a classic mismatch.

Surveillance camera footage captures the moment the luxury liner, under tow at the time, tries to pass beneath the Wenzhou suspension bridge in eastern China.

It's a misjudged moment that costs the 44 million dollar Pearl No. 7 at least one funnel.

No casualties were reported also some witnesses said the bridge swayed slightly on impact.

Authorities say they're investigating why the accident happened.

Chinese state broadcaster CCTV says the ship is due to be officially launched on October 1st.

It can accommodate up to 1, 000 passengers and - under normal circumstances - a fully functioning smoke stack..
