ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)

STORY: Renowned Brazilian designers unveiled their latest creations on the catwalks of Fashion Rio, where the upcoming summer trends are being set.

Designer Nica Kessler, one of this year's newcomers, showcased outfits inspired by Portuguese culture.

Kessler mixed patterns that ranged from typical Portuguese tablecloths to flowers. The stage was set with olive oil bottles.

The collection included a wide range of fabrics like silk, linen and tulle.

Male brand R. Groove came next with simple outfits and little colour on the catwalk. Designer Henrique Goncalves created a more basic look for his summer collection.

Models rode skateboards down the runway at the end of the show, which was well-received by the audience.

Fashion Rio runs until May 26 with 30 designers presenting their collections throughout the week.
