Russian environmentalists fight to save forest

Russian environmentalists armed with fireworks and molotov cocktails have a stormed a town hall building near Moscow, the capital.

They trying to stop the destruction of the Khimki forest, one of the last natural woodlands on the edge of the city.

The area is in the path of a proposed highway, an eight billion dollar project connecting Moscow to Saint Petersburg.

And environmentalists have accused "hired thugs" of trying to evict them from the forest.
