Families collect bodies of plane crash victims

Indonesian authorities handed over the remains of the Russian plane crash victims to their relatives.

Emotional families of the 35 Indonesians, 8 Russians, one American and one Frenchman collected their remains.

Farisya, whose father died in the crash, said he was thankful for the quick recovery process.

(SOUNDBITE) (Bahasa Indonesia) VICTIM'S SON, FARISYA, SAYING:

"We thank all of parties involved in the recovery operation, for the speedy process. We thank God that they have found our father's remains."

The Russian Sukhoi jet crashed into a mountain in West Java province during a demonstration flight on May 9.

None of the 45 people on board survived.

Authorities said part of the plane's black box had been found.

Indonesia's National Committee of Safety Transportation will work together with Russian experts to investigate the cause of the accident.
