Seeking safety in the Nuba mountains in Sudan.

The bitter war between Sudan and South Sudan is taking a heavy toll on the Sudanese, as civilians flee to rocky hills seeking shelter from the bombing.

"Because we fear the weapons, the fighter jets and helicopter gunships, we hid in the caves."

Local authorities say about 100,000 people are living in caves, scrambling to stay alive.

"There is no food. This is what we eat, the seeds and leaves of trees."

On Wednesday South Sudan accused Sudan's armed forces of carrying out fresh bombing raids on border areas. Khartoum routinely denies such accusations.
