Spain's immigration payoff - 31 Oct 08

Spain's prime minister has proposed new laws which would pay immigrants lump sums - to return to their native countries. Almost 10 per cent of Spain's population is made up of immigrants to the country. And in the past ten years it's these low paid workers that have driven the country's economy. But now times are tough, many of them are losing their jobs - and so putting greater financial strain on the government. So it's come up with a plan - it will pay people to head back home. From Madrid, Al Jazeera's Elsa Weill reports.
